You have decided: Our Bratwurst of the year is the Cheesy Gonzales

Five sausages were in the running, all of them had their own charm. But in the end there can only be one winner for the sausage of the year: Cheesy Gonzales won out against RomAntico, DopeTastic, Gin Happens and Trip To Asia. For boss Dirk Freyberger the result was somewhat predictable: "The Franconians are a very down-to-earth and rather conservative people. If I had had to bet at the beginning, I would probably have put my money on the Romantico or the Cheesy Gonzales. Not because I thought they were better than the others, but because most customers can handle them the best.

So what's actually in the Bratwurst of the year? In addition to our Uehlfelder Edelschwein , which is of course the main ingredient, and our homemade Bratwurst spice mix with fine sea salt, there is of course a good portion of Irish cheddar in it. Jalapeno peppers provide the spiciness and Peppadew fruits round off the fruity taste. If you're not in the mood for a Bratwurst change yet, then you only have yourself to blame. The Bratwurst of the Year is now also available vegetarian

All of our finalist sausages were good. But our Cheesy Gonzales was simply the best fit: From now on, you can also get cheese sausages from us that are 100% meat-free. Don't let that put you off, they will definitely be the best vegetarian sausages you've ever eaten! Nice and creamy in the mouth, grilled with an aromatic crust, they taste like our Cheesy Gonzales of spicy cheddar and hot jalapeno and fruity peppadew. Definitely give it a try!

Energy Nürnberg as advertising partner for our Bratwurst of the Year award

We broadcast a successful radio advert with Energy Nuremberg, in which each employee recorded their own text for their bratwurst creation. Enrico for his DopeTastic, Gerlinde about her Romantico, our trainee Julia about her Trip to Asia, Ercan about his Gin Happens and of course Daniela about the winning bratwurst - Cheesy Gonzales.
