Grilled skewers with bratwurst

More variety on the grill

Bratwursts are a must at a barbecue party. But to make sure they don't get too boring in the long run, we have a recipe for you that will really intensify your bratwurst taste experience. This recipe for delicious bratwurst skewers is quick to prepare and only requires a few ingredients. The components can be varied and expanded as desired.

When choosing the bratwurst, you can go by your own taste. Our Franconian bratwurst is particularly suitable for this recipe - it's a real classic. But our Cheesy Gonzales , a bratwurst with cheddar, peppadew and jalapenos, also tastes delicious on a skewer. We also use bacon as an additional ingredient. It doesn't necessarily have to be the classic pork belly. Our beef bacon is also excellent. It is made from pure beef. In combination with a beef bratwurst , lamb bratwurst or turkey bratwurst , this recipe can be prepared wonderfully without pork, without sacrificing taste.

There are no limits to your choice of vegetables. We use peppers and shallots. But zucchini, corn or mushrooms also complement the bratwurst on the skewer perfectly. For a fruity aroma, you can also cut pineapple or an apple into equal portions and put them on the skewers. If you want, use a marinade of your choice to spice everything up.

Simple and quick preparation

It's really easy: first peel the onions. Then cut the vegetables into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3 cm in size. Cut the sausages into thirds or quarters, depending on their size. Finally, roll up the bacon slices so that they can be easily skewered. Now you just need wooden skewers. Put all the ingredients on them alternately and put them on the preheated grill. Grill the skewers over direct heat for about 3-5 minutes and the finger food is ready. You can also prepare this delicious snack in a pan. However, you should use a little oil and turn the skewers regularly so that they don't stick. Now you can season the sausage skewers as you like and serve with a sauce or dip of your choice. Thanks to the quick preparation of the sausage skewers, you'll have more time for your family and friends on your next barbecue evening.
