Twice King Burger
To mark the defending of the title of Bratwurst King, we have decided to dedicate our monthly burger to the theme of bratwurst . In May, our customers can expect a bratwurst burger, the Twice King Burger .
Looking back. The Freyberger butcher shop won the title of Bratwurst King in 2023. They won gold in all three competition categories of the Franconian Bratwurst Summit in Pegnitz, thereby beating the other participants.
This year the butchers defended the title and both the classic Franconian bratwurst and the creative bratwurst, the cheese spaetzle bratwurst, each took second place. The creative one even won the audience award. With this result, the butcher's shop achieved the highest overall score and retained the crown.
Absolute bargain
The Twice King Burger comes as a burger kit, which includes all the ingredients for the burger and allows customers to prepare the royal feast with the help of video instructions (published on the company's social media platforms ).
The kit consists of:
- 180g King's Bratwurst patty
- mountain cheese
- bacon
- apple-onion-horseradish chutney
- burger bun
And all for the price of EUR 5.90 per piece. The additional benefit: If you order five burger kits or more, the cost is reduced to EUR 5.00 for each portion, which corresponds to a discount of 15%. "We have such support in the community that we simply have to give something back," explains master butcher Dirk Freyberger. The butcher's shop owes its success at the Franconian Bratwurst Summit 2024 only to its loyal customers, he adds. That's why this campaign is starting out as an absolute bargain.
The burger is only available on the last weekend in May (by pre-order) - that is, on May 31st and June 1st. The order deadline is May 29th. After that, the burger kit will disappear from the range.
Versatility in craftsmanship is essential
"We want to show what you can do with bratwurst," says the Nuremberg native. Franconian bratwursts in particular are characterized by their diversity. The Franconian Bratwurst Summit shows this every year. "It's easy to make a burger out of bratwurst. We form the bratwurst meat into a burger patty, which can be prepared in the same way as one made from minced meat," says the Bratwurst King.
In addition, Freyberger wants to draw attention to the fact that creativity is important in the craft industry. "Meat is such an incredibly valuable commodity. We have to show what the food industry has to offer and we also have to make it clear to the consumer that our guild not only focuses on traditional recipes, but also constantly adapts to the spirit of the times," says the meat sommelier.
The king continues his reign
Last year there was also a bratwurst burger, the King Burger . "For me it's a logical step - in 2023 we already used our victory as an opportunity to create such a burger, we just have to continue that," says Dirk. But: The two burger kits differ in their recipe and last year the King Burger was launched without a special promotion.
The Freyberger butcher's shop will probably be represented again at the next Bratwurst Summit. The king himself cannot say whether there will be a Triple King Burger. But one thing is certain - "if you want the crown, you have to get past us," the Bratwurst King announces.
